Dr. Williams has extensive experience in hospital operations, medical staff relations, and developing innovative strategies to maximize Physician Hospital Integration. He has the range and depth of skills and expertise needed to lead in this challenging healthcare environment. Dr. Williams has a broad understanding of public health and policy issues, and vast experience working with physicians and clinicians across a healthcare system, having served as Corporate Vice President for Medical Affairs at Vanguard, which was recently acquired by Tenet Healthcare. Before that, he spent five years at the company’s Baptist Health System in San Antonio.
Dr. Williams graduated with honors and earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He also attended the prestigious Orthopedic Surgery Trauma Program at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. He has a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree in Health Policy and Management from Harvard University School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts, and a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the Washington University Foster School of Business in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Williams earned his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology at Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts.
